Teacher Stories Volume 3
In July 2016, fourteen educators joined #CampCSTP Writers’ Retreat where they developed their skills and writing style. Over the course of three-days, these teachers received dedicated writing time and expert feedback to focus on their teacher leadership journey and write their Teacher Story.
We are please to share the stories of James Boutin, Alissa Farias, Mark Gardner, Claire Hallinan, Samantha Huckabee, Janet L. Kragen, Mandy Manning, Megan Megaard, Linda Myrick, Shannon Francisco-Papcun, Danielle Puhl, Carla Reynolds, Mary Sharp, and Rachel Wiley.
Challenging Schools
CSTP brought four schools from different districts together. Each team had one and a half days to compose a case story that wove together four people’s perspectives on the work. This meant coming to a common understanding of the problem of practice, sharing unique perspectives, discovering common threads and interesting thoughts.
This work was published in four Challenging Schools Case Stories. Each school shared their problem of practice, the challenges and the successes of working within a challenging school, the bumpy road that got them there, and a glimpse ahead of the work still to be done.
Teacher Case Stories: Student Growth
Eight Washington teachers wrote about their experiences with student growth. During the course of a school year, CSTP convened the group twice to brainstorm ideas, share drafts and work with a professional editor to hone their work.
While these are eight very accomplished teachers, you’ll read about their challenges and struggles with student growth from their varied perspectives in different contexts, grade levels and content areas, but all from their authentic voices.
