DESCRIPTION:CSTP is supporting Olympia-area National Board candidates with a component support cohort located at Centennial Elementary School with a state-trained national board facilitator\, Stacy Brown. This cohort will have a music focus. This will be the second year of this component support\, but anyone who was not in the cohort last year is still welcome to join this year. Component 1 and 4 will be hosted during the 2025-26 school year. C1 will have 3 meetings and C4 will have 4. \nCandidates must register and pay for facilitation by the first meeting date of a component. \nPlease note\, the completion of a Jump Start or a Foundations course will be required before the first meeting. DESCRIPTION:CSTP is supporting online Washington national board candidates with a cohort located over Zoom with an OSPI trained National Board Facilitator. Candidates are encouraged to register early as our small cohorts fill up early\, and must register at least two weeks prior to the first meeting. If you receive an OSPI National Board Conditional Loan\, you should register by November 28\, 20245 so that we can provide OSPI with proof of your registration in a state-approved cohort as per the conditions of that loan. It helps describe and explain the instructions for each component. SUMMARY:WERD Book Study: Brilliant Teaching
DESCRIPTION:This 2025-2026 school year\, CSTP is thrilled to host our Washington Educators Read and Discuss (WERD) online book study. We are happy and full of gratitude to have Dr. Adeyemi Stembridge return as a facilitator for this book study. \nWe will be spending time with Dr. Stembridge’s second book Brilliant Teaching: Using Culture and Artful Thinking to Close Equity Gaps. Participants will connect\, discuss\, and reflect upon the book in small groups and be guided through our shared community learning by our amazing crew of facilitators. \n  \nThese free book studies are open to all Washington paraeducators\, teachers\, principals\, administrators\, and ESAs. Registration is free\, and 15 clock hours will be available for purchase upon completion based on live attendance. Book study registrants will purchase and read the book on their own and then attend the live sessions (recordings will not be available). \nMeetings will take place weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-6:00 PM. SUMMARY:OSPI Standards Review Project: Recruitment for Health\, PE\, World Languages
DESCRIPTION:CSTP is excited to once again work with OSPI on the Learning Standards Review Project. We are recruiting currently practicing classroom teachers to provide feedback on the Physical Education\, World Language\, and Health learning standards that are currently being updated by OSPI teams. \nThe teacher groups will focus on the state Learning Standards Review project. The project aims to prioritize\, revise\, and clarify the state learning standards. The selected focus group will: \n\nEngage in dialogue and feedback around the current standards and implementation.\nComplete a bias and equity screening of the standards.\nReview revision drafts and strategize how to provide continued support for revision and implementation.\nOffer feedback on the updates and changes.\n\nCSTP is seeking about 20 K-12 educators in each content area who can meet virtually twice this spring\, once in April and once in June. Meetings will be from 4:30-6:30. The mandatory dates are as follows: \n\nWL: 4/21 and 6/1\nPE: 4/22 and 6/2\nHealth: 4/23 and 6/4\n\nIf you are interested in being a part of this project and have expertise with the PE\, World Language\, or Health Education standards\, please fill out this application. Selected participants can earn a stipend of up to $400.00. Applications are due by 11:59 pm on April 1.
